All the taxpayers in India are facing the technical issues while filing the GSTR 3B for the month of August 2017 and are hoping that the GSTR 3B should be extended. However, till now no news has been confirmed by the government yet.

As said, we have received a lot of queries regarding that the site is not working properly and people are not able to file the GSTR 3B return for the month of August.

The Government stand

The government is yet to make any official announcement on the matter. Hence, we recommend you must not wait for the official statement because there have been several rumors on the same account as to the extension for GST filing.

Further, the government has dismissed the rumors and acknowledged the true ones and further it has already said that no further extension shall be allowed for filing the returns.

However, one has to wait and see whether there is any substance in the government words, because if the taxpayers are not able to file the GSTR 3B due to technical reasons then the extension of the return should come as a natural remedy.

Only 25% returns are filed till date

As per the statement was given by the finance minister Arun Jaitley in the press, only 25% returns have been filed by the taxpayer till date. Only owing to this data, it is been expected that the return GSTR 3B for the month of August may be extended by another 5 days to 25th September 2017.

For further information, to understand what is GSTR-3B? The simple definition would be - it is a simple return form for the month of July and August. It is a summary return of the first two months of GST implementation.
